Let the craziness begin!

Tomorrow new schedules drop, and I am excited to see what new and fun things will happen. Oh! And no fear, I am not leaving. (just in case if I worried anyone) I am going to be a trainer! So I am going to start training, to train. ummm complicated I know.

Last week Encore! preformed in three amazing nights of shows! In total, we raised $33,500 for The United Arts of Central Florida. Next year our beneficiary will be The Make-a-Wish Foundation. I am very excited about this because Disney has always worked very well with them and I think they will go a long way to promote next years’ show. Any who, I have a few links from all sorts of sources if you would like the jist of the show.

Now let’s get to it. I’ve been out of town since the last show night. At Saturday night performance I decided that I wanted to go home and see my mother. So Sunday morning I was dropped off at the airport and hopped on the first open flight to Chicago. About three hours later, I had my cousin pick me up and ask my mom to watch Lucky, her pup. I call her on my way saying I had picked up work and that I was on my lunch break. Instead of Lucky running into the house like she always does, I walk in. haha if only I could have gotten a picture of her face at that very moment.

I spent a few days in the city. My first at 26th and Diversy… If you’ve never been to the federal court building, I don’t recommend going just for kicks. But the Picasso out front is something you have to see if you’ve never been to the city. There were a few highlights to knowing the city so well. I can find my way home from just about anywhere. If you drive west far enough, you'll always run into the Lake. I just really miss UIC. Never thought I would say it, but I really miss it more and more I visit the ciry. On that note, I just want to say how grateful for all that my life has become. I see how my life would have been if I had never left. I am just not that person. I can’t sit still. I need to know that there is something bigger than just me. To see people be nice to one another and not expect something in return. To have friends with passion. To have passion. To have music. Dance. Understanding. Diversity. To understand one another’s diversity. To embrace our differences and yet have one thing in common. No matter what it is that brings us together, we walk this path united. It’s an amazing feeling to finally feel like you don’t have to stand alone in the big world of ours. “Fly high and proud.” “We’ve only just begun to live…”

-Sebastian at the Zoo-
Music Makes the World Go Round

If you’ve never gotten lost in a song, try it. Close your eyes forget about everything around you; forget that there are bills or work tomorrow… Forget those who care only for themselves. Forget the names on that list you weren’t on. Go ahead and listen to the music. Sing from your gut. Let the breath of life fill you and give the world the gift of your song. Then let the rhythm move your body, or just hold tight to the ones you love. For once, just feel. Remember: make your own kind of music.

Today marks a day where I finally get to move up in the company! I’m so excited. I’ve waited 4 years for this! There have been some pretty cool things that have happened to me; Christmas filming(s), parades, specials events, new shows, cool specially trained rolls. Now, I get the chance to leave behind all that I’ve learned. Pass my knowledge; pass the torch. I just wonder when I start?!

Promotion time!
This year Disney is proud to present Encore! Disney’s cast choir and orchestra in Revolution. Last year, we were able to donate nearly $30,000 to the United Arts of Central Florida. This year the concert will be held in the World Showplace at Epcot. Revolution is all about music. And the power music has to move people, to heal the souls, and to bring people together for the greater good. The 60’s and 70’s brought a new wave of music to the world and in it; a cry for hope and change. Since Encore! is all about helping one another it is fit to write a show to fit our cause. I stole this from one of my favorite comedians…
“hell, all liberals... if we just all got together and had this big too much information, go there voice; if we just went and did it. That would equal power. And that power would equal change. And that change would equal a revolution.”
Think about it. And help our cause. If nothing else, be a sponsor. Please, order tickets in advance and make sure you print out your parking passes prior to the show. Enjoy and just check us out at http://encorecentral.org/

Adventures of 1719.
Everyday seems to be a new adventure in our house. A few days ago my roommate came home with a Lb of shrimp, heads and all! Of course, w
ho get recruited to slice and dice? Moi! Then someone decided that screwing a table into the dry-wall without fining a stud was a good idea. Hmmm spackle and touch up paint have been our new found friends. Sara has 4 more weeks left of her tour in China before she can come home… and our wing of the house seems so empty. I keep thinking I want to paint. (but what color?) And we are getting a new kitchen! I think it is time to get some sleep. Check out this video. It will make you feel good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-n4bSTvsWvM
